hi, i'm heycompu

a little buddy who lives in your notch.

hold and talk about anything on your screen. heycompu answers out loud, doodles right on top of it while it explains, and hands the bigger jobs to little helpers.

press and hold those keys (or ⌃ ⌥ on a Mac keyboard). nothing's listening; it's just a website.

  • “where's the export button?”
  • “is this chart good news?”
  • “which of these flights is cheapest?”
  • “what does this setting actually do?”
  • “why won't this formula work?”
  • “how do i undo that?”
  • “sum up this page for me”

01 talk + draw

ask about your screen. watch it draw the answer.

hold ⌃ ⌥, ask out loud, let go. heycompu takes one look at your screen and answers out loud while a pen sketches circles, arrows and underlines over the thing you asked about. the ink keeps pace with its voice, and word-by-word captions are there if you want them.

02 helpers

big ask? hand it off.

say “heycompu agent, …” and a named helper takes the job. jobs hang from the notch as little cards that show their plan while they work, chime when they're done and wait politely when they need an answer from you. you just keep going.

nothing hanging yet. hand something off ↓

a pretend run with made-up data. nothing here reads real email.

    • helpers keep standing notes you give them, like “always write in british english”
    • they hand back text, markdown, csv, json, html or svg files you can preview and save a copy of
    • announcements stay quiet while your mic is busy on a call

    03 routines

every morning at 9, check my inbox.

say it once and it keeps happening. make, change, pause or delete routines out loud or in settings. after the first run, a routine only tells you what changed.

routines run on your Mac while it's awake and heycompu is open. they never use your screen or your mouse.

    04 dictation

    talk where you'd type.

hold ⌃ fn and talk. let go and your words land in the field you were typing in. tap it twice for hands-free. switched windows, or ended up in a password field? it holds on to your words instead of pasting them somewhere weird.

optional cleanup tidies things up without rewording you. pick your language and teach it your words in settings.

    things for the team:

press and hold (or hold space while it's focused). two quick taps go hands-free. pretend dictation: this page never touches your microphone.

    05 connected apps

    plug in your stuff.

hook up accounts through Composio, or point heycompu at your own MCP server. give each account a label like “work” or “personal”. helpers see those labels when they pick an account, and they check it's still connected before they use it.

it's early: testing against real third-party accounts is still going.

    06 hands off

it asks first before it drives your Mac.

when a helper needs to click or type for you, it asks before its first move, and a yes only covers that conversation. while it works you'll see a glow around the screen. move your mouse, press esc or start talking, and you're back in charge.

juno can switch tally to dark mode and rename the sheet.

    07 privacy

only sees your screen when you ask.

no always-on recording. when you ask about your screen, heycompu sends a fresh capture with your question using your own OpenAI key. during a task you've allowed, helpers take additional captures to choose and check their actions. screenshots aren't saved to your local history, and your key is stored encrypted on your Mac.

and when a helper is clicking for you, that glow overlay stays out of screenshots too.

    08 faq

    questions, answered.

    is it out yet?

the public installer is being prepared. the download section below shows only verified releases.

    what will i need?

a Mac and your own OpenAI API key. you add the key in heycompu's settings, and it's stored encrypted on your Mac. there's no Windows version yet.

    how much does it cost?

there are no plans or prices. for now you bring your own OpenAI key and pay OpenAI directly for what you use.

does it watch my screen all the time?

no. a screen question uses a fresh capture. during an authorized task, helpers may capture again before and after actions to check what changed. those images go to OpenAI using your key; they aren't saved in your local chat history. stop the task to end its captures.

can it use my mouse and keyboard?

only after you say yes. a helper asks once per conversation, before its first click or keystroke. moving your mouse, pressing esc or starting to talk stops it straight away.

    what's a helper?

a named assistant that takes bigger jobs in the background. helpers show their plan while they work, ask you when they're unsure, use the apps you've connected and hand back files like markdown or csv.

    does it remember things?

a little. it keeps recent spoken lines from the last 30 days on your Mac, so it can pick up where you left off. you can forget them in settings. helpers also keep any standing notes you give them.

    is this page tracking me?

nope. no cookies, analytics or trackers. the little sounds are made right in your browser, and they stay off unless you turn them on.
